Back to the Future
Back
A good buddy of mine that wasn’t around in the 80’s asked me one time
“Were the 80’s really all that great”?
My answer was a short, simple “Yes”
In JAN of 1985, smack dabb dead center of it all, I found myself stranded for 10 nights and 11 days in downtown Tokyo Japan
People clambered around me everywhere I went, They’d all say “American? American?” And they would take big giant group photos with me in the center like I was some rock star or something. People wanted to shake my hand or hug me all day while out on the streets. That’s another story for another time
But the 80’s were different, very, very, different
The only thing that remains constant in life is that things change. Some for the better, some not so much, but things change, or in our case as market participants, we adapt or get left behind
Every single trader and investor that I know, that’s having a banner year here in 2025 is doing so because they adapted. Some were reluctant. A few that I personally know that are up the trading food chain from me had a difficult time doing so, but those that did are not losing sleep
The stock market hates uncertainty more than anything
Tariffs
Threats of more tariffs
FED chair / fired or no?
Unexpected inflation numbers?
The list goes on and on
Let’s do something different today
Today lets look at what stocks did the past 6 months
We’re now in Mid JUL
That means that half of 2025 is behind us
But more importantly we still have another half left
We have room to grow
