Our "Old Friends"

This morning, and many times before, I’ve said that investing reflects life because humans are in the markets

With the untimely passing of my friend that I shared this morning I reached out to many friends of the past to let them know
Over the last 24 hours I have spoken with friends that I have not seen or spoken with in years. Today I actually had lunch with one of them, as we caught up we joked about his 26 y/o son that makes over 160K a year in the construction trades. When we were 26 we couldn’t even spell 160K a year… And I also made plans to have lunch with another old buddy next week
As I made the calls today and got to catch up with old friends we would talk about “the old days” there were lots of tears, but not all were sad, we shared stories about “way back when” and a few times we even laughed until we cried
A couple of you that read this mornings newsletter reached out to me with your condolences, that means a lot, thank you

There’s that old saying “No one gets a 2nd chance to make old friends” I believe it…..

The markets are no different, none at all. It’s great to scan and find new stocks, or to make “new friends” that is always a welcome thought
But nothing can replace having history with the old ones that we can then build off of because of our familiarity with them

One “old friend” that has been good to us as of late is CAT
CAT recently gave us a tremendous recovery from down at 350 ( our entry was at 355 ) to 408 where it is now
SFM while not as drastic pulled itself together and going from 125 to 146 in only 2 weeks is a heckuva run
META is working hard to take out it’s ATH and is less than 1% from it now

One “old friend” that I took Blind Calls on ( they were higher risk, the Premium service will offer these ) is GE..
We will be watching for a new trend with todays breakout and look for it’s movement from here

One of our “new friends” that is treating us well is JPM

Since our entry into JPM on Tuesday morning the stock has only moved 1.61%
