Slow news day?

When you see headlines which one do you read first? If your like many people it’s the scary one, the “Fear Factor” Fear you see, sells. About 3 decades ago ( Going to show some age here ) I was dating a lady that was a producer for a major news network. Great gal, very sharp, I learned a lot in that era from being around her and her coworkers. But when we broke up she said to me “Bill, you know a lot of people in a lot of places, if you ever have a Human Interest story please let me have it first”…. H.I. stories are “feel goods” Think “Little Bobby saves grandma and kittens from burning building”. “She then goes on to remind me “If there’s a shooting or anything else bad that day it will bump everything else” Got it, bad news sells.

You may have seen an article headline on a major financial outlet today that read “Top Analyst predicts 30% market crash this year” They were pushing it pretty hard. Then they want you to sign up for their “Pro” edition to read it. It’s what writers call “the hook” and I am not a fan. What’s worse is the next 3 articles on that same site then go to show you how Larry, Curly and Moe all have “predictions” of stocks going to “Da Moon”. So, which one or what do you go with?

When I share content it’s the facts, just the facts and nothing but the facts. How I use O.I. ( Open Interest) and mathematical driven formulas with Options Chains and Order Flow ( or “Book” ) as to whether a stock is being bought or sold becomes more clear. It’s not crystal ball methodology, it’s not forecasting, it’s allowing the numbers to speak for themselves. And as always we still need to utilize Trade Management. The numbers represent the “Moneyness”. Prudent investors always follow the money.

In 1993 Don Henley and “The Eagles” released “Dirty Laundry” , that was 31 years ago. Or 3 decades. Do you think things have changed? I’m adding the YouTube link here with todays Heat Map if you want to check it out.
