Spot of tea?

POTUS and the Prime Minister of England met today
They created the outline of the trade deal to come, the markets liked it

$DJIA ( ▲ 0.47% )  
$SPY ( ▼ 0.19% )  
$QQQ ( ▼ 0.24% )  

As I shared on Monday I was out the past couple of days, been busy with a annual project
But not to busy to miss this market move today

This one is more applicable to trading than investing
And it’s good timing
More and more people are entering the markets as short term traders over long term investors each year. It started back during COVID, cell phone trading took off, I myself prefer my home office but that’s just me

The moral of this short story is timing

Hold and Hope
Even on that last one believe it or not, timing, success in the markets relies on that component more than it ever gets credit for
Right now this market still goes to the short term traders
Long term investors are most likely finding it tougher and tougher each day, especially if they were risk adverse and missed being active before big moves like today

Traders and investors alike that took any of the plays lined out here in theoptionscoach.net over the past couple of weeks with names such as $AMZN ( ▲ 0.08% )  $CAT ( ▲ 0.05% )  $META ( ▼ 0.55% )  $MSTR ( ▼ 1.24% ) and $JPM ( ▼ 0.3% ) are doing well…. Not to mention $SPY ( ▼ 0.19% ) which I short term traded today…( it wasn’t a day trade, it was set up for a swing ) . Todays pop gave me an instant return of over 100%
Getting greedy is not how we survive in this game, I cashed out

The markets popped today but they also pulled back after
Things are looking better here, they are, but we are not completely out of the woods just yet. There’s a lot of consolidation going on in many stocks, until some solid trends emerge and then prove themselves, timing is the name of the game
