Sunday Night Recap 5/19/2024

This past Friday the markets celebrated the 232’nd birthday of the New York Stock Exchange. What also occurred was the Dow Jones Industrial Average reached above 40,000 for the first time ever.

Yesterday, it seems like yesterday that we hit 20,000.. It was so significant at that time that I kept the copy of the Wall Street Journal for that day, it was Jan 26, 2017. And everyone talked about how unbelievable it would be if the DOW ever hit 30,000.

Happy Birthday to the NYSE and Congratulations to the Dow Jones Industrial Average for it’s historic achievement.

Doing our weekly look back can we see with the Heat Maps that stocks are continuing to grow. As always on Sunday nights I share the past week, the past month and then the past 3 months in that order. NVDA is in full blown “Beast Mode” currently. It reports Earnings this Wednesday, let’s see how the market reacts to that.
