The 4th of July and Independence day

Hello Everyone,

My hope is that this 4th of July weekend you find yourself surrounded my family, friends, good food and fun….

We Americans call The 4th of July Independence Day. Many believe that it was the day that the Declaration of Independence was signed, it wasn’t. Here are a few basic quick facts about that…

The actual day that the Continental Congress declared independence form the British was on July 2nd 1776.

And it’s not when The American Revolution began, that started back in April 1775.

Nor is it when Thomas Jefferson wrote the draft of The Declaration of Independence, that had already occurred a month before in June 1776.It was signed on August 2nd, 1776 and delivered to the British in November 1776.

So then what exactly were our Fore Fathers up to on July 4th, 1776? That is the day that they actually approved the Declaration of Independence after the draft had been submitted on July 2nd. The copy of The Declaration of Independence that is displayed in Washington DC  was not actually written until August of 1776 but still shows the July 4th, 1776 date.

I have been there, I have witnessed it’s glory with my own two eyes, and it is a stunningly magnificent piece of work, I highly encourage  everyone to go visit it if they ever make the trip to D.C.

We as traders have the spirit of self independence in us. I don’t know about you but one of if not the main reasons I ventured into this area of what can sometimes be mass chaos, sometimes slower than molasses dripping but always rewarding in the end, is I wanted my own independence. To be able to work as I needed to prosper but still have the flexibility to enjoy all that I work for. Not every job offers that. Very few do. I am thankful for this skill set that allows me the freedom to work when I want and then be able to go out and work on the projects of my church and in my community. That is why I do this. That and the love of the game. Hopefully trading / investing has offered you some independence as well, so that you may be free and able to enjoy your life as you wish. And hopefully help your fellow man along the way, in His name..

Trade smart, live charitably and  be well…. Bill Mc
