Weekly Recap JAN 26, 2025

Sunday Special

Friday I asked what you would like to see on the upcoming website and several of you wrote me here at theoptionscoach.net

For those of you that wrote saying what you’d like to see on the upcoming website, first off “Thank You” for writing, secondly none of you are alone in your investing struggles, I promise you that

Investing / trading can be hard, it doesn’t have to be, but it can be

As the years march on I hear more and more about losses from one single stock and even accounts blowing up over it than from any other stock I know… It’s TSLA…

I’ve spoken about TSLA’s volatility. From that volatility TSLA has a high ATR ( Average True Range ) ATR matters, not just in day trading, but even if you were to only buy one single share and hold it until the day you died. ATR can help make or break your percentage gain or loss

The bigger issue however is “Trade Management”
You see, Trade Management never goes out of style

Every one should start investing ( or swing investing ) before they ever try to trade
All sustainable traders can invest
Few investors can trade
There is a difference, and it’s big one
That old saying “You have to walk before you can run”
Trading is no different, I assure you of that
There’s a universal belief that where a trader or investor is after their first 3 years is typically how they will be for the rest of their time trading / investing
Some investors progress, some take the time to read books, educate themselves, review past plays, study systems and methods, develop what works for them and then capitalize off of it
Others will only want to talk about a stock that they read a “story” on
Successful trading / investing takes self discipline

Vince Lombardi?? , The former head coach of the Green Bay Packers??
Yeah the coach that won 5 NFL Championships in 7 years, that coach……
He once said:
“The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but a lack of will”

A little luck doesn’t hurt either, but I, like many others always say:
“The harder I work the luckier I get” 😄

Enough from “Investing lessons I learned the hard way”
Lets get to work>.>.>.>.>.

This week lets put our Model Portfolio stocks and a few of our personal favs together and see how all of them did

AMZN +3.94%
CAT + 6% A lot of big Gaps down below, it might need a rest in the $410.00 area
COST -0.37% Seriously? What the heck man! It’s the impending strike that’s looming, STOPS on this one should be taken very seriously
CRS +1.93% We exited last week, it reports this week but it’s Options are only so so, not bad but not great
GE + 7.60% We see this in our near future for swing investing, the pullback from it’s high this week was profit taking after it’s monster beat on earnings
HD +1.25%
JPM +2.19%
META +5.67% The 650 Call Options were gobbled up this week, the 670’s and the 700’s are seeing lots of action all across “The Chain.” This could be META’s B/O in the making. It’s currently rising to the top of its channel and a pullback could occur
Coin toss anyone?
We appreciate it’s strong Volume on Friday and would welcome a continuation of that

SFM +5.39%
SN 😄 +1.19%
TSLA -4.7% ( yikes, glad we are not in it right now )
WMT +3.07% With the rotation back into Tech, WMT could see slower going from here for now

ALWAYS watch for when your stocks earnings come out
Buying right before earnings carries higher risk

MMM Our newest friend, welcome aboard

MMM Beat earnings and the Options have been “Reset”
This now makes MMM Options better valued
There are an endless array of possibilities with this one
On Friday we mentioned 2 plays, they are still good for now as we didn’t get our entry on Friday as it was down for the day ( we do not buy when a stock is red )
One needs to be mindful, this one could see profit taking, thus price would retrace back to the top of it’s last box making old resistance new support
We are not in a hurry here, we want a proper set up for our entry
If the price heads south Options prices will adjust to our favor even more and we will enter after a bounce, we would revisit prices then
Should the trend continue north here is what we’re looking at:::::

After that they will win “The World Series”
Then they will win “NASCAR”
Then the “National Spelling Bee”

Are you seeing a theme here?
It’s strength
We always want to play into strength
With earnings season now going on we are able to see what stocks are strong and what stocks are not….
Invest wisely my investor friends, and #GoChiefs!!!
