Weekly Recap NOV 9, 2025

Sunday Special

Hello traders, how was your weekend?
Anyone get any snow? What about that “Artic Blast” that came thru last night… brrrrrr……
The only thing colder than the weather was the markets this week
$DJI ( ▲ 0.16% ) Weekly -1.21%
$SPY ( ▲ 0.1% ) Weekly -1.63%
$QQQ ( ▼ 0.32% ) Weekly -3.07% Friday the NASDAQ saw it’s 4th highest Volume day of the year, and it was all down….. Ouch….
$IWM ( ▲ 0.52% ) Weekly -1.80%

Do you play any musical instruments? I play the guitar, “allegedly”
My “Axe” of choice is the Fender Stratocaster
Do you remember SRV? Stevie Ray Vaughn? Undeniably one of the greatest guitar players of all time. He played Strats, and had 5 different ones for shows
The main one you saw him with he affectionately called “Number One” lol…..
His other name for it was “First Wife” 🙃
It’s a custom build, it had a 1963 body, the pickups came off of 59 and the neck off of a 62
But what makes it so unbelievably beautiful is when you see it you don’t see much laminate on the body, its down to the bones and all scuffed and scratched up….
It got like that from one thing, playing it like there was no tomorrow, as if his life depended upon it. Few guitar players could ever match his speed, Jimi Hendrix, Prince and Roy Clark are about it
A few months before SRV’s death I got to see him in person, it was a show I’ll never forget

Options, or they way that we trade them here at theoptionscoach.net I should say, are a lot like that custom guitar
Many of the spreads that I highlight in the Pre Market reports aren’t standard in the Options Chains, I customize them for maximum safety and returns
For example:
If our stock XYZ was trading at $100.00
And the ATM Options for a Bull Call spread were 100 / 105 I might make them 100 / 110
With the Strategies that we use ( Bull Call Spreads here ) the risk is already sooooooo much lower than simply buying a Long Call that I increase it slightly thus allowing us to gain more with any moves in our favor
With our Strangles I’ll sometimes take the opposite approach so we can reduce our cost basis. Strangles aren’t the cheapest, but they allow you to sleep at night during times of market volatility. And make gains on big moves, in either direction

Let’s talk about the Pre Market report for a minute:::
Lets say I highlight a stock, it’s trading at $100.00 in the Pre
And then I say it’s a Strangle trade, and we are doing the 90 / 110
If our stock moves from $100.00 to $82.00 or $109.00 before or right at the market open then the MID price mentioned will be no use. That’s something I’m thinking of adding into the Pre Market reports… Friday’s highlighted stock $TSLA ( ▼ 3.68% ) is a perfect example of that. It then closed down 6% on the week

Blind / Naked / Long / Short
This is IMPORTANT"
“Back in the day” traders would say I’m buying Blind Calls on XYZ at the 100K”
Blind: Simply means that it is a directional trade, Long or Short, that has zero protection to the opposite side. Naked is the same as Blind. Potato / Patoto……
These days traders simply say Long or Short.. Okay, I’ll often say Blind to illustrate that the trade has no downside protection, the loss stops at the amount that you paid for your Long Call or Long Put
“K” now I’m really going olllllldddd skooooooolllllllllllll…….
Just like in baseball, the letter “K” means Striiiiiiike……
So to abbreviate, back in the day we would say “The 100K” meaning “At the 100 Strike”

Today’s a refresher on some of what we do around here
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “Strategy is more important than the underlying”
Friday saw something of a turnaround off of the lows, is the selling over? No one can say that for sure, no one
When, not if but when the market stabilizes, I plan on taking advantage of the deflated premiums and looking at weekly / monthly income earning strategies
You may recall some time ago I mentioned Calendar Spreads, now is not the time for them, but when the time comes, we’ll be ready

Weekly results on the right

Tonight I’ll be scanning for possible set ups for in the morning
